Beit Basalt

Beit Basalt imagines a home embedded within Jordan's volcanic landscape, drawing its material language from the black basalt fields that shape the region.

Conceived as a sanctuary within an austere environment, the house explores the relationship between architecture, geology and climate : using basalt as both structure and visual language, interrupted by warmer stone drawn from the landscape's volcanic origins.

Embracing Basalt:

Basalt, a cornerstone of this design, is more than just an aesthetic choice. Its natural thermal properties provide a sense of cool comfort in the desert heat, while its enduring strength ensures a home built to last.

Accents of Heat:

Echoing the fiery origins of basalt, pops of red stone, add a touch of warmth and vibrancy. This red stone complements the stark beauty of the basalt, creating a harmonious balance.
